Patterns of Job Values about the Elderly Care of Social Welfare College Students

Abstract
After the financial crisis in late 1997 people¡¯s general job values in Korean society have changed structurely and they considerated more stable factor than personal preference or well-paid when they decided to major. This study applied Q-methodology to identify subjectivity of job values about the elderly care of social welfare college students and categorized them into several types. The result showed that they categorized into 4 types. The type 1 was characterized by ¡¯stability-oriented¡¯ ignored with well-paid, strongly want to keep the job for a long time. The type 2 was focused on ¡¯self - achievement-oriented¡¯ agreed with personal preference, academic achievements and choose a job that is suitable to
life style. The type 3 was showed ¡¯calling-oriented¡¯ choose it regardless of paid. The type 4 ¡¯promotion -oriented¡¯ agreed with importance of promotion and opportunities. These results suggested to providing the fundamental job values about the elderly care to add the curriculum of care skills.
